Matthew Fox says, “Art grows sterile when divorced from spirituality.” Art is the exploration of truth. Truth often hides from our first glance. The artist has the opportunity to look deeply and shine a spot light on inner vision and feeling often overlooked in everyday living.

An abiding love for natural forms found in nature and the human figure drive my art endeavors. Looking into these subjects for their true qualities and responding to the truth I see offers the viewer another way to see the subject. My work with figure and landscape abstraction reveals vulnerability in the subjects as well as strength and beauty. The viewers have the opportunity to wonder and bring their sense of truth to the imagery.

I am happiest working with oil on canvas, but also enjoy pastels and other mediums. My recent works include collage that uses pieces of painted canvas backed onto board. I enjoy pursuing more than one style and exploring both realism and abstraction.

It is spiritually energizing to seek truth through Art.
