"I have the distinction of being the oldest living emerging artist in existence. (grin) Regarding my work: each art piece seems to take on it’s own life and direction. It’s an adventure to see it happen, despite my own planning. Then the exploration of the art piece’s style happens and that is the most exciting part of the process. My diversity has been both a blessing and a curse, but it has kept me from death by boredom. One of my instructors Robert Irwin once told me that I had too much facility and that could be a danger. I think that hanging onto a child-like appreciation for everything around us helps a lot, in the creative process."
