Jim O'Brien
About the ArtistI first started my art venture in the early 1960s. I was a detail draftsman and did some layout designs for the Gemini Project, (Space station that got us to the moon) and some commercial art. I am mostly self-taught, but I have had private lessons. My son, Dan O’Brien was a serious contender for the 1996 Olympics, and he asked me if I would like to try painting him, and if he got a Gold Medal we would try marketing my paintings and prints. I did a lot of Dan’s events (10 in all,) and Dan got the Gold Medal in the Decathlon, and my art career took off. I changed to acrylic to add to my diversification and later on painted still life and landscape to become more diversified. I hope you enjoy my work. Jim O’Brien
