News from the Orland Arts Gallery
Gerry Bartlett Exhibit April 1-17

Artist's Reception - Friday, April 3 from 5-7 P.M.
Native Californian, Gerry Bartlett, began her professional career at the age of 15. Known as a fine portrait artist, she also specializes in Western and Southwest art, owing to her years of traveling and of working on ranches in Colorado and Wyoming. Her preferred subject is the contemporary California style cowboy. Like she has said “I spent many times with a bridle on one shoulder and a camera on the other.”
She is accomplished in all mediums: Watercolors, oil, pen and ink, a pencil. Sharing her knowledge, she now teaches painting techniques to select artists. Her commissioned work is requested throughout the United States. However, the true West and Southwest landscapes tug at her heart.
Whether sketching in Wyoming or exploring cliff dwellings in New Mexico, she views true Western lifestyles as timeless. The people, the adventure, the photography, the painting, are all incorporated in her quest to share with you her connection with the West.
Miss Bartlett’s family roots trace back five generations to Santa Cruz in the 1850’s. She currently resides in the family home in Santa Cruz, California.
The Orland Art Gallery, located at 1016 South Street, Orland, will feature Miss Bartlett’s works beginning Wednesday, April 1 and continuing through Saturday, April 18. The title of her show is “California Ranch Close Ups” and features all original oil paintings. Open House will be Friday, April 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Regular gallery hours are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday the first two weeks of each month. Free admission.
